How do I test EMF levels in the sauna?Updated 4 months ago
You’ll need a body voltage kit and our video walkthrough, but you can also read the instructions below. We like the Safe Living Technologies® Body Voltage Home Test Kit, it makes a suitable voltmeter kit that comes with everything you need and is affordable.
This will let you test EMF levels in and out of the sauna, plus it will show you how those levels affect body voltage.
HOW TO TEST BODY VOLTAGE PROPERLY
The concern with EMF is not the EMF measurement at the voltage source but rather what is the EMF influence on the body and where the user located relative to the voltage source. To measure body voltage, we measure the body's V/m using with a grounded voltmeter of sufficient sensitivity.
Steps to test Body Voltage:
- Set the voltmeter's mode to Variable Voltage (labeled V~)
- Connect the voltmeter's COM jack (labeled COM) with a long banana cable to a ground source.
- Connect another banana cable to the Voltage jack (labeled V).
- Connect the other end of this Voltage cable to a large piece of metal (like the brass cylinder that comes with Safe Living Technology's Body Voltage Kit)
- Grip the brass cylinder to measure your body voltage, allowing 10 seconds or so for the voltmeter's reading to stabilize.
Note that when you move your body/feet and thus change your proximity to sources of voltage, your voltage will change.
