It cannot be used in three-quarter-size showers that have less than 41 inches of floor length due to insufficient clearance.

Store your sauna components when not in use.

WHAT ABOUT EXISTING MATERIALS REACTING TO HEAT?

It is important to take into account the materials in the area you are using. Recommended for use in stone, porcelain or fiberglass shower enclosures, as these materials are considered to be inert. Not recommended for use in plastic (PVC) shower stalls. Painted surfaces may also be an issue. SaunaSpace® can not speak to what happens to materials we do not use. You have to reach out to the specific manufacturer for understanding of effects to their materials.

HOW HOT DOES IT NEED TO BE IN THERE?

Ambient air temperature must be above 100 °F (37.8 °C) during a sauna session. If the volume is large, a space heater can be used to help achieve the ambient temperature air requirement. Some ventilation is OK, as long as you can maintain the air temperature.

ARE THE COMPONENTS OF THE CONVERTER KIT WATERPROOF?

NO, the Shower Converter components (Hearth®, Pedestal, Stool and Curtain) can not be wet and must be removed from bathroom prior to showering off after the sauna session. Removing the components only takes a few moments. All of these are procedures that you don’t have with the FireLight® Sauna.

WHAT IF MY SHOWER HAS GLASS AND METAL SLIDING DOORS?

For shower units with sliding doors of metal and glass, you can use the included Shower Converter curtain folded to cover the open top or gap. It is important to have your shower fully enclosed Some find if they have a shower that is closed on top and all four sides, they do not need the curtain.

DO I NEED AN ENCLOSURE FOR HEATING?

An enclosure is required for full body sweating. You need an ambient air temperature between 100-120°F (38-49°C) to facilitate sweating, this is the reason for the enclosure. The FireLight® Sauna Enclosure is the ideal enclosure, both spacious inside and space-saving, and includes the Bamboo Grounding Mat for earthing therapy and the optional SilverLining™ for a totally EMF-shielded experience.

The Shower Converter Bundle comes with a curtain to make your tub combo into an enclosure. Some have trouble maintaining that ambient air temperature using the Shower Converter. Customers who do purchase the Shower Converter usually do so because of space restraints (efficiency apartments, rented rooms, etc.). Most customers choose our full saunas!
