Does infrared technology interfere with implants or medical devices?Updated a month ago
Always consult with your doctor before using the sauna to make sure it is right for you.
We have numerous customers with all types of implants using our products. Types of implants include metal joints, meshes, ports, pacemakers, breast implants, dental implants. There are no specific contraindications for the use of sauna therapy for implants.
The sauna should not interfere with Bluetooth or RF-enabled medical devices or pacemakers.
If you have metal implants, you may experience a warming sensation.
If you have a chemical port, you may want to cover it with a towel.
Breast implants should not be affected by the sauna. If you would like, you can cover your chest with a towel or sports bra to avoid directly heating the area.
If I am concerned about my implant being directly heated by the near-infrared light from the bulb, what can I do?
You can effectively prevent any direct heating of an implant by the infrared light from the lamp, wear a covering that fully covers the implant area in all your rotational positions in the sauna. This could be clothing, cloth or a towel wrap, ideally made of organic textile material.
Any additional suggestions for sauna use if I have an implant?
Begin with less time in the sauna, becoming aware of any unusual sensations in the area of the prosthesis or pins. And, of course, please consult with your health care provider when considering sauna therapy.
